How to syringe feed syringe medicate your rabbit

Here we are going to know how to syringe feed your rabbit supplement called oxbow critical care also tell you how to mix supplement together and I am going to tell you how to medicate your rabbit.

Take critical care open it and put small amount into the container and mix it with desired consistency. Take syringe full of water app. 5ml then squirt that into the critical care and mix it well with spoon. If I am going to feed my rabbit with 10cc fill I am going to mix 10cc water to that. Oxbow critical care is used in rabbits which are not eating on their own you wanted to be about the consistency of oat meal so that it of full fills the syringe. The grain will become thick and can be hard to draw up in the syringe.

What you going to do is you are going to put your rabbit close to you put one arm on the other side of the rabbit and use another arm to put under rabbit’s chin and pick his chin up and find the little opening in the side of his mouth in between front teeth and back teeth. Insert syringe into that and squirt critical care mix into its mouth. Sometimes they may spit it out so it’s always going to be handy so it will clear it up. It takes little bit of time.

You need to do the same thing with medicating them. Just pull up medicine and in this case take 0.25cc with syringe. You need to pull that up into the syringe and squirt it back into the syrup. Do this for a couple of times then take 0.25cc. Use refrigerated and shaken medicine. Do the same thing as before. Put the syringe in between teeth and squirt the medicine into rabbit’s mouth carefully and slowly.

Sometimes it may be difficult to handle with the rabbit. It may kick you off and tries to jump out of your hands. In this case take a towel in front of his feet so that he can’t kick it off and then wrap it into the towel. That way you can get rid of kicking and jumping around when you are trying syringe feed or medicate him. This makes very easy that you can be able to do it by yourself and you don’t need anybody help.

Until he is eating on his own you can give him syringe feed or syringe medication and your rabbit is not going to hate you for this. With the medication or rabbit feed always go according to the directions mentioned on the label or your veterinarian’s instructions. I hope this will help you.
